Etruscans

The Etruscan civilisation developed in a geographic area whose natural confines were the Arno river basin to the north, the Tiber to the east, and the Tyrrhenian Sea to the south-west. The territory corresponds to what would later be the 7th Regio of the division made by Augustus. Chronologically, Etruscan civilisation extended from the 9th to the 1st century B.C.

The Etruscans were a fascinating people, in large part due to their works of art, such as the frescoes of their tombs, bucchero pottery, and work in gold and bronze.
